Temple Famous For :

          This is the 2nd Nava Kailasam temple which is dedicated to the God Chandran (Planet Moon). The popular legend of Nandan is associated with this temple. Among the Nava Kailasam, it lies in the upper Kailasam.


      Sri Ammanathar temple is based in the upcoming village mentioned as Seranmahadevi, in the of Tirunelveli, in the state of Tamil Nadu in Southern India. The primary deity of this temple is Ammanathar (Lord Shiva) and his is none. The holy tree of this temple is Vilwa. The holy water of this temple is none. The agamam or pooja of this temple is known as Kameeyam. This temple is nearly 500 years old in this region. The historical name of this area is Seranmahadevi.

      The primary of this shrine are 10 day Vaikasi Brahmmotsavam in May-June, Tirukarthikai in November-December, Maha Shivrathri in February-March, Mrigaseersham star day, Chithirai Brahmmotsavam in April-May, Vinayaka Chaturthi, Vaikasi Thiruvadhirai in May-June, Panguni Uthiram in March-April, Margazhi Tiruvadirai in December-January, Aadi Kruthikai in June-July, Aipasi Annabishekam in October-November, Tamil New Year day falling almost on April 14 each year, Navarathri during September-October and are observed in the temple.
